Our lab combines advances in basic affective science with clinical science. We develop and use indirect assessment methods to investigate cognitive, psychophysiological, behavioral, and motivational aspects of emotions and affective psychopathology.
Our research also focuses on comorbidities among mental health problems, particularly depression and anxiety disorders, and mechanisms of change in evidence-based psychotherapies. The ultimate research goals are to inform conceptualization of psychiatric disorders and to improve psychological interventions.
